About The Author

Alex:

I am 25 years old and have been brewing since February of 2007.

Beer kind of snuck up on me, I suppose that’s how it goes when you aren’t allowed to touch the stuff until you are 21. I was apprehensive to start brewing because it seemed like a long, arduous process, but the rewards have proven to be worth the trouble. I brew a couple of times a month, and hope to keep on brewing for many years to come. I love to brew beers that are unique. It is definitely more fun to brew a beer if I know that I am not going to find anything quite like it anywhere else.

This website is set up as a reference for me more than anything, but if you have stumbled upon it, I encourage you to learn from it, give advice where you think I can learn, and most of all, just RDWHAHB.

I am passionate about the hobby and it is my life-long quest to brew the perfect batch of beer.

    Hey Alex,

I just found this blog from your link on Facebook. Cool idea! You’ve already inspired me to take a shot at brewing some beer. Might have to wait until this summer, though.

    Hey Alex,

Have you ever considered brewing a sorghum beer? When I was in Rwanda, the most popular brand of beer was made with sorghum, not barley. Today I heard public radio story about Guinness starting to use sorghum for its brewing in Africa.

That does sound like fun, I’d love to try it, but first I need to find some sorghum…A google search seems to suggest it may be a bit challenging to find, but I would love to try it! I’m always looking for interesting things to try and I had read a little bit about sorghum beer.
